This blog explores the best hamburger restaurants in Moonee Ponds, where you can find everything from a veggie burger to a cheeseburger to a big ol’ meat monster. Hungry? Let’s go!

  1. YOMG

(Y)omg, this place knows how to make a burger! Made with 100% grass fed Aussie Angus with no secret additives, YOMG is the home of house made, hand-pressed patties sourced locally to feed the locals. The Moonee Ponds location is at 17-19 Pratt Street, and reopens after the Christmas break on January 3 at 11:30am, so set your calendars!

Every burger on the menu tastes as good as it looks, which is saying a lot as you browse their menu and start salivating. The Kingsway is a double cheeseburger we could eat right off the screen with its double beef and cheese, topped with caramelised onion and secret sauce. Meanwhile, veggies are in luck as well— the veggie burger Vegapalooza and vegan burger The Vegan Hustle will have you saying ‘meat who?’. We mean it— January 3, be there!

  1. BurGround

Every Moonee Ponds local will know BurGround, and it’s a rite of passage that you try it if you haven’t already. This hamburger restaurant is known for its handcrafted burgers

available to eat in or take away, such as the Spinner on its brioche bun, the Seesaw on its charcoal bun, and the Skyrider on its beetroot bun. And while the burgers are amazing, they’re just the beginning of the menu! We recommend the Cheesy Potato, which is just like it sounds, and the Violet smoothie with its blend of blueberries, banana, yoghurt, honey, and coconut water. If you can ever decide which gourmet burger and side take your fancy, pop on in to 84 Puckle Street and savour the taste today.

  1. Grill’d

When you hear the name Grill’d, you can immediately taste their fancy burgers. Or is that just us? Well, whatever it is, we’re not mad about it! This well-known hamburger restaurant has a Moonee Ponds location on 69 Puckle Street where they serve some of the best burgers in town. Whether you’re into beef, chicken, lamb, or a veggie burger, you’re in for a treat at Grill’d! The ever-evolving menu keeps its crowd favourites like the Simply Grill’d and Baa Baa Burger while always adding new additions— we love the new HFC Australian BBQ and the veggie Mushroom Truffle. Get in quick while they’re hot!

  1. Sir Duke

Just down the road is Sir Duke at 99 Puckle Street. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, Sir Duke is a hamburger restaurant and all-day diner in one with a focus on locally grown produce and fine specialty coffee. As you can imagine, the menu is extensive— just how we like it! Whether you’re hunting down the best burgers or sandwiches or hoping for a sweet breakfast treat at 2pm, you’ll find it here. For those looking to load up on carbs, we recommend the cheesy garlic bread to start followed by the aptly-named fancy cheeseburger. Top it all off with a choc brownie milkshake and you’ve got yourself a meal!

  1. Six Points

Located in the Puckle Street Precinct, Six Points is an eclectic café with murals adorning its walls with pride. Here they serve up great coffee, food, and alcohol in a cool and cosy space just waiting for you to drop on in. As we all know from the movies, gourmet burgers and fancy burgers are incomplete without a milkshake, so here’s where you get ‘em! Six Points shakes come with malt for that extra special taste you won’t find elsewhere— run, don’t walk, to grab one today!
