I’m Bianca Rose, and I have been the owner of the Glam Beauty Bar & Skin Clinic since 2014. I have a passion for lash extensions, beauty, fashion, and fun!

Since high school, I have been part of the beauty industry as a makeup artist, a lash therapist, and a fashion photographer. I have loved working in day spas, department stores, and beauty salons, and I completed my Diploma of Makeup Artistry while working full-time at Endota.

These jobs enabled me to travel state-wide, which I enjoyed, and I was also developing my home business. Then as I neared the end of my twenties, I decided to take the plunge, fulfil a life goal, and set up a beauty clinic of my own. This was a super exciting step for me.

Having the clinic is great because as a small business, it’s all about building a passionate, kind team, helping them grow professionally, and providing fantastic, ongoing customer service. We have amazing, understanding, and loyal clientele, and I think that shows our dedication and devotion to what we do. 

The clinic was already called Glam when I purchased it. I thought it was a great name – it fits the feel and décor of the salon – and the locals are familiar with it, so it stuck. I love the community that we’re a part of in Moonee Ponds. There’s amazing local support for small businesses. We’re so lucky to have so much at our doorstep!

My Dad found the clinic, and he told me he believed that I could make any business work because I am good at what I do. My parents have been business owners, and Dad was going to guide me through the process of starting up my own clinic, but he passed away the same year. It was an overwhelming time. I honestly didn’t know how to run a business, and there was a lot to get my head around.

I took it on and learned everything myself, from accounting to creating a website to marketing, and the list goes on! It took over a year to find my groove as a business owner with my own team, and now I’m confident in myself and what I’ve achieved. Being thrown into the deep end was incredibly difficult, but I gained a lot from it.
