Khao San Road is a Thai restaurant on Mt Alexander Road in Moonee Ponds. It opened in 2009 and its menu covers the Thai classics as well as a few dishes you don’t see everywhere. It’s a dinner spot, open in the evenings for dine-in.
Thai food on Mt Alexander Road
The menu is broad, with plenty of choice for a group to share. Sections include:
- Soups such as tom yum and tom kha
- Entrees including Thai fish cakes, satay chicken skewers, spring rolls and miang tofu
- Salads, from papaya salad (som tum) to soft shell crab salad
- Green, red, yellow and massaman curries
- Noodles such as pad thai, pad see ew and pad kee mao
- Stir fries, clay pots and whole barramundi with a choice of sauces
- Desserts including sticky rice in banana leaf and crispy roti with sticky rice and banana
